We envy those who have never set foot on Phi Phi island for it totally represents the image of a tropical paradise.  For those who have seen the movie “The beach” with Leonardo Di Caprio, we assure you that you will fee the same way the hero did when he discovered the famous beach.  The Phi Phi islands were fully hit by the 2004 tsunami.  Even though the effects of the tsunami aren’t visible on Phi Phi Ley, the village of Phi Phi Don was completely leveled.  At this time, 40% of the village has been rebuilt from what it was before and the site was cleaned of the debris that was scattered over Tonsai Bay.
